Jesus Undercover

[verse]
The sky was clear
The streets were mean
The sun beat down its summer heat
A homeless man
Held out his hand
“Please, I need something to eat”

[rise]
They were far too busy
They had no time to bother
Their eyes were too blind to see
Jesus undercover

[chorus]
Look into the eyes of those in need
You will discover
Many times the one you see is
Jesus undercover
Jesus comes with many faces
In the poor and lowly
It’s for us to see him there
And honor them as holy

[verse]
Crowds walked by
They turned their eyes
They refused to even see
Homeless people
On the street
Who daily search for basic needs

[bridge]
How can you worship a homeless man on Sunday
And then turn around and ignore one on Monday?

[chorus]
