adapted from Valley of Vision
O Holy Spirit, who proceeds from the Father and Son
Have mercy on me; Have mercy on me
I pray you will move upon my heart
And shine your truth on my darkest unbelief
Fulfill in me the glory of your name
Take the things of Christ and show them to my soul
May I daily learn the beauty of his grace
Show me the cross and his wounds that make me whole
Increase my faith in the knowledge that
atonement is achieved
Help me understand
expiation is complete
My soul is saved; my debt is paid;
all guilt of sin is washed away
Hell is vanquished; Heaven reigns;
eternity is mine!
O Holy Spirit write your words upon my heart
Keep the devil’s vile deceptions far from me
Make my soul to be as fragrant as the garden
Be my comforter and light to guide my feet
