(Forever Free; based on Psalm 137)
Sing a song of the city
sing a song of the river
Sing a song of the Lord who set us free
For our chains have been broken
And our sins are forgiven
And our hearts praise our God forever free
We were caught in the shameful chains of slavery
And our captors asked us, “Now, where is your God?”
Then your glory shone and drove them all to bended knee
And you showed the nations you would not be mocked
Once we looked to the land of our fathers
To the city where we lived in joy and peace
Now we look to the land of your promise
And the city where we’ll live forever free
Forever free, Lord, Forever free
In that city where we’ll live forever free
Forever free, Lord, Forever free
In that city where we’ll live forever free
