Well, it’s another Monday morning
Clock goes off without a warning
So I drag myself from bed and put on clothes
Then I make a pot of coffee
To wake up my sleepy body
Mondays are a drag but that’s just how it goes
So I get myself ready for the day
And I take it easy as I make my way
Work goes much as I expected
Keep my inner calm collected
As I deal with people’s problems on the phone
When I fix ’em I’m a hero
If I can’t I’m such a zero
It’s an attitude I will not make my own
And I move slow and steady through my day
Thankful the work helps to pass the time away
Soon the time is right for leaving
And I can’t help but believing
That tomorrow’s going to be much better still
Seems there’s something about Monday
I might figure it out someday
But the better bet is that I never will
Still, the day moves towards the setting sun
And the moon brings a smile when evening comes
As the cool night air is falling
And I hear the night birds calling
I reflect back on this day that I survived
Nothing really tragic happened
To my pleasant circumstances
But I’m blessed like that and really not surprised
So I make myself ready for some sleep
And I pray to the Lord my soul to keep
I wake up to Tuesday morning
Clock goes off without a warning…
