The Glory of Life

I stand on the shoulders of history
And I peer through the dense fog of time
I sense much of life is a mystery
As I study this life that is mine

I read through the news in the papers
And try to discern truth from lies
When your compass points wildly and nowhere
Then there’s no clear direction to find

So I fly through the sky
And I open my eyes
So I’ll see when I find
The glory of life

If the cosmos expands into nothing
Then there’s nothing where something will be
And the new worlds that come into being
Are beyond the realms anyone sees

Then the nothing becomes filled with something
And the something explodes with new life
And the new life that now is there living
Is profound with the glory of life
