The Water Tower

I climbed up the water tower just to see what I could see
The first thing that I noticed was it was too high for me
As I stared down at the ground and imagined myself falling down
I looked up at the sky and shouted out this cry

[chorus]
Lord, I am yours no matter where you lead me to
I won’t hold on to fear for I belong to you
Lord, I am yours no matter where I may be
I won’t hold on to fear for you are holding on to me

I climbed down that water tower knowing all the risk I faced
The first thing that I noticed was my fear had fled away
As I descended to the ground I felt your spirit coming down
And I looked up to the sky and shouted out this cry

[chorus]

[bridge]
Yea, though I walk through death’s shadow
I will have no fear
I will walk in the intrepid light of love
and overcome; I will overcome

Our Stories

It’s in the hard and hidden work
Your mercy is observed
Low places filled with grace
Reveal your glory
Where mercy is exchanged
And beauty flows from pain
Your glory is revealed
In our stories

Your life
Lived in our lives
Our stories
Reveal your glory
When your life
Is lived in our lives
Your glory
Becomes our story
Your glory is our story

It’s in humble broken hearts
That kingdom movement starts
The lowest, darkest valleys
Tell your story
And through the cracks of shattered lives
Your spirit shines your light
And your love infects our lives
With your glory

Our House Is Full

We have lots of people living in our house
Each one is different and unique

Door slammers and floor shakers
Wood cutters and dough bakers
Hall bounders and sweet takers
Sheet cutters and heart makers
Seed sowers and nail bangers
Nose blowers and shirt hangers
Lawn mowers and pant pressers
Ball throwers and room messers
Water flushers and sink fillers
Hand washers and bug killers
Fruit peelers and yard prancers
Shrill squealers and rug dancers
Chip stealers and song singers
Wound healers and smile bringers
String strummers and puddle jumpers
Drum drummers and bass thumpers

And so you see our house is full of variety
And that’s what’s great about our family

Missed Connections

I caught you looking at me
looking at you
But you were with a friend
and I was alone
I tried to slip around
to just say hi
But when I got to where you were,
you were gone

Missed connections
I think it was you
I looked in every direction
Intent on finding you
I recognized your smiling face
From across the room
When I got to where you were
I smelled your perfume
I looked around
but I couldn’t find you
Missed connections
I think it was you
Another missed connection

I saw you walking through
the concert crowd
I recognized your face
and that quirky smile
You walked right by me
but I was suddenly lost for words
And when I turned around,
you were gone

[bridge]
I feel I’ve known you forever
Can it really be we’ve never met?
I want to love you forever
I know that I will find you yet

Merry Christmas – God Is With Us

Stars in the winter night
Glisten like Christmas lights
Shimmer and shine so bright
They drive out the dark

And as in awe we gaze
Our mouths are filled with praise
Our Hallelujahs raised
To the LORD of our hearts

Merry Christmas – God is with us
The mystery of his incarnation
The man, Christ Jesus
Merry Christmas – God is with us
The Hope of Peace for every nation
Messiah, Christ Jesus
Merry Christmas
God is with us

Traditions may come and go
Some we will never know
And yet they’re all to show
The way to the king

Lost Things

We’re looking for lost things
In this lost world
Searching for sheep who have
Wandered away
Looking for hidden things;
Digging for buried pearls
Filling the Kingdom with the
Treasures we reclaim

So we’re going
with eyes open
Looking for you; Seeking the lost
And we’re going with hearts broken
Longing for you; not counting the cost

Jeremiah 12

You are right, O God and you set things right
So will you answer this question for me?
Why do the wicked thrive and have an easy life
While the righteous man strives to be free

How long, O Lord, must we cry “How Long?”
Until your goodness flows like rivers to the sea?
And the wicked man will be struck from the land
And the land, once a desert, turns green

I Wonder What It’s Like

I wonder what it’s like
Sitting by your side
Consumed by your presence
In the midst of your fire

And I wonder what it’s like
To hear the words you speak
To walk fully in your spirit
And live the words you breathe

Jesus show me, tell me, move me
Drive my passions with tender mercies
Jesus mold me, make me, use me
For your glory
For your fame

I Bought A Truck From Jesus

I bought a truck from Jesus
It’s a red Chevrolet
I bought my truck from Jesus
It’s a red Chevrolet
I handed him my money And I drove it away

It’s got some dents and scratches
And some fading in the paint
It’s got some dents and scratches
And some fading in the paint
But the engine runs so quiet I know it’s been maintained

When Jesus sells you a truck
You can be sure you won’t be stuck
With a lemon or a bomb that’s going to
Leave you stranded somewhere all alone

I bought my truck from Jesus
And I’m thrilled as I can be
Yea I bought my truck from Jesus
And I’m thrilled as I can be
I handed him my money and he handed me the keys

Holy Healer

Holy healer, heal my heart
Lest my whole life fall apart
In this chaos I find myself
I look to you and cry for help

Blessed healer, touch my soul
Gather my pieces and make me whole
Set your kingdom into my gap
Fill my life with what I lack

My heart is breaking for this world I live in
My soul is sick of my own sin
I need a touch from the Great Physician
To make me well again; make me well again
