Firefly

I’ve flown many times in a Firefly
Sometimes you wonder how she stays in the sky
When you’re flying out deep in the gaping black
You can rest assured she will get you back

They added landing struts to the old aught-three
And they make a smooth landing such a breeze
It keeps your precious cargo from jostling around
From those belly-flop landings on solid ground

(chorus)
I’ll take a Firefly and rule the sky
There’s no other ship I would rather fly
They may scorch the land and spoil the sea
But they’ll never take the sky from me

We still count years by Earth’s solar days
Even though the outer planets swing in different arrays
In the timeless void it’s hard to decide
If there really is such a thing as time

You can say what you want about a Firefly
How much baling wire and duct tape you must apply
But it’s love, the one thing you can’t do without
You got to love her, little albatross, without a doubt

You can know every bit of math in the ‘verse
And she’ll shake you off sure as the turnin’ of worlds
You see it’s love that keeps a Firefly in the sky
Yea, it’s love that’s the heart of the Firefly

Red Planet Rising

Cast out into the great expanse
From a low-bid, cut-budget launching pad
Now we’re soaring fast into the danger zone
And we leave behind everything we’ve known

You pass time on a solar voyage
With a tight schedule as you slip the void
So you run the system til it’s all routine
And you run again to refine your technique

Red Planet Rising
Earth that was is dying
Life must find a garden
Mankind needs restarting

Mars landing is coming due
When the red planet comes into view
We got to buckle in for the hard descent
And pray the lander deploys on the first attempt

A crucible of fire and ice
Like a blood drop in the cosmic lights
The rocky landscape’s a barren waste
Just a rough binding on a cratered face

Red Planet Rising
Earth that was is dying
Life must find a garden
Mankind needs restarting

Our Lovely Mrs Reynolds

Why, it’s our lovely Mrs Reynolds
And she’s had so many husbands that we
Just don’t know who she will marry next
All we know is she’s a puzzle and we
Wish she had a muzzle on her
Mouth ’cause every time she speaks we’re vexed

In my bunk
I’ll be in my bunk
Don’t come looking for me
I’ll be in my bunk

So we plan the perfect heist
And realize that she’s a feisty one
And wants to be the leader of the band
So she helps us with the manning of the
Smash and grab we’re planning and we
Can’t but think she’ll kill us if she can

In my bunk
I’ll be in my bunk
Don’t come looking for me
I’ll be in my bunk

So we work out all the details and she’s
pretty in her pigtails and we think she’s
Not so bad now after all
Then she smiles and looks so coy and gets
A dirty look from Zoe and I
Swear I think there’s going to be a brawl

Saffron, why did you hit me?
Yolanda, you broke my heart
Bridgette, I knew you’d come back to me
I’ve already pushed the alarm

She’s had so many names I never
Know what I should call her, Mrs
Reynolds, YoSaffBridge, or Tinkerbell
But it’s true when life is over and I’m
Pushing up the clover I may
Find that I am in that Special Hell

In my bunk
I’ll be in my bunk
Don’t come looking for me
I’ll be in my bunk

I Am A Leaf On The Wind

I Am A Leaf On The Wind

The sky calls out and the sky opens wide
For the cosmic dance in the boundless sky
The land is charred and they drained the sea
But the sky still sets me free
In the endless sky I am free

[chorus[
I fly so free and I fly so high
I soar through the clouds
I soar through the sky
Engulfed in peace and Serenity
I am a leaf on the wind
Watch me soar I’m a Leaf on the Wind

When we leave the sunlight far behind
And we break into the dark divide
We can fly with pure serenity
We could fly for eterniy
As we fly toward our destiny
